TYPos

For this entry, I'm just going to leave my typos where they fall.  By thw way I actually typed TYPOS with that typo.

I have noticed when I go back to read a comment I've made in someone's journal -- come on, you go back and check yours too -- that I've made a ton of typos.

That's because we can't write our comments in larger type.  And there is no spell check.

Plus in my case I'm writing sitting on the edge of my bed with the screen THREE FEET -- actually forty inches -- away.  Lliterally. You read ten point type from that distance and see how many typos you make.

To proof read I have to put on my reading glasses, get up and do my own spellcheck.  What a pain.

So I re read what I wrote from three feet away and hope I catch my mistakes.

But I don't.  And I embarrass myself;  With some egregious spelling mistakes and plain old typos.

So you're saying get a chair?  Sit closer? I know.  But what I really want to do is re arrange all the furniture in here first.  Blah blah blah.

Actually, I should just embrace my typos.  I was at a personal growth seminar [quick plug for Wings over there in Other Sites] a few years ago.

And I learned that we are all nerds geeks dufuses, not matter how hard we try not to let it show.

As if to prove to myself what a geek I am, I had to do something in front of the group all dressed up.  I thought I was looking pretty good if I said so myself.

Until afterward when I went into the ladies room and discovered I had performed in front of everyone with a big black smudge on my face and the nastiest run in my stocking that everyone could see when I turned around.

Geek city.

We invest so much in putting our best foot forward.  So we seem perfect.  When we know we aren't.  And in our determination to appear perfect we trip ourselves up.  That whole toilet paper stuck to our shoes thing. Have you ever geeked out?

I might as well go with the flow on this one.  And embrace my typos and left out words and just ride the boat over the waterfall smiling.

I can see some typos and messed up words.  Do you know how hard it is NOT to fix them?  To just let them be?  ACK.

Does coming out of the bathroom at a wedding with the back of your tux jacket tucked into your pants count? It does? I never did that.

lately a few people around the land have been very critical of other's spelling (when they themselves may have a mote or two in their own eye). I do my best, but absolutely I make mistakes. I think we can get so caught up in critiquing other's writing that we can miss some moments of sheer brilliance.
And I am still absolutely positive the rediculous should be spelled that way and not ridiculous........................

Mrs L.
We've all been there.  I find it especially embarassing when it is a serious topic and I am trying to make a serious point in my comment and I go back and read it only to find gibberish type glitches.  What do we have to do to get AOL to give us spell check in J-Land?  If they can give it to us in email mode, why not journal mode?  My screen is only 18 inches away and I have this problem.  On the other hand, everybody seems to have this same problem.  So, live and let live!

Walking from the powder room in the Ritz Carlton..all the men at the bar had their eyes on me ...I thought I really must be beautiful until a girl ran over and pulled the back of my dress out of the waist band of my panty hose...What I could not understand ...not one person laughed...they just stared as I walked by...I was mortified!!!
As far as comments I do nothink I have made one that has not had some glaring error...Courtenay

Talk about geek.  I have a trick for the comment section to help me out, and it screams geek!!  I open mail and type my comment as though I were going to send it via mail.  I then run spell check, and copy/paste to the comment section.    LOL so I cheat, what can I say, it helps!?
