People Magazine, my weekly resource for in depth news, recently asked a bunch of celebrities what their favorite movie kiss was.
I wondered if anyone would mention my favorite suck face moment. But no. Someone did like my second favorite, however, when Han Solo kisses Princess Leia and says "You like me because I'm such a scoundrel."
When I tell you what mine is, you won't remember it. But it gives me goosebumps every time I watch it.
The movie where you can watch this romantic interlude is the first Rocky. I can see your brow beginning to furrow. Rocky I? A memorable love scene? That's a boxing movie. GI Jane had more memorable love scenes.
But there is one shining moment.
Adrian and Rocky have just started seeing each other.
One night she is alone with him at his place. Apartment is too fancy a word for where he lived. He gives her a tour of the one and only room. She, petite and delicate, nervous and shy, hides behind her horn-rimmed glasses. She is clearly feeling overwhelmed by his presence.
You sense that this is first time she has ever been alone with a man in his home.
He, the big lug, is like a gorilla playing with a kitten -- a clumsy galumph who is surprisingly gentle with such a small creature. He keeps up a nonstop line of snappy patter, trying to distract her, while also trying not to frighten her away.
When it's time for her to leave he follows her to the door and backs her into the corner. He looks huge looming over her. But he speaks gently to her, almost nonstop so she can't protest, eventually getting her to take off her glasses. Immediately we can see how pretty she is without them, as she looks up at him with those huge dark eyes.
He leans over her. He doesn't want to scare her any more than he has, since this is probably her first kiss ever. So he moves very slowly. They move closer and closer to each other. After a couple of false starts, he finally gets close enough to kiss her with an unexpected sweetness -- in complete contrast to his size and coarse brutality. She responds to his gentleness with surprising heat for a newbie. And they lock in a passionate embrace.
I know, you still don't remember it.
But I think it's one of the great kisses of all time. Meanwhile let me track down the dialog for that scene. So I can see if I'm even remembering it right.
What's your favorite movie kiss?

You nailed it! That's pretty much how it happened. Rocky is one of my favorite movies. Best movie kiss is from Bridget Jones' Diary. Bridget and Mark Darcy kissing in the street.......omgosh. Too sweet. Chokes me up everytime.
I remember that scene, and that is an absolutely wonderful kiss, as well as one of the best scenes of the movie. I think that my favorite movie kiss is in "It's A Wonderful Life." George has come to visit Mary, and they're on the phone with Marty. The tension between the two of them as they stand side by side is palpable, and George erupts with frustration, anger, and passion, telling her that he doesn't want these mundane, ordinary things, then grabs her, repeating her name over and over. They kiss passionately, repeatedly, and all the while her mother is listening in on the other line. Oh yeah, it's a good one.
Mine, when they make the movie of my life: The Big Comeback...I dash (ok drag ass) over the finish line of this November's Amazing Race, and Kiss Ole' Phil Cutie-Pie right on the lips!
haaaaaaaa!
I still love ya, chicky!

I remember that scene. It was a great movie kiss. And the Han Solo scoundrel line, well...<blush>
I love kisses, and can't think of my favorite, so, LOL, you'll have to consider this my rough draft comment. I'll have to think on this and get back to you. :D

After reading your description of this scene, to heck with the dialogue! You need to give Harlequin a call, they could use someone with your talent!
Sam
I love your description of that kiss, gave me goosebumps!
The one that comes to my mind right now was from the Pirates of the Carribean when Kierra Knightly's dad, says"after all , he is a black smith"and she says,"no, he's a pirate"
kinda juvenile, I know, but I watch most of my movies with 14 year olds!

Sleepless in Seattle. It wasn't a kiss. But standing on the observation deck of the Empire State Building, after months of near misses and pain and anguish of his losing a wife and her calling off an engagement, he reaches for her hand and says, "I'm Sam." She takes his hand in hers, and for a moment, they both look at their joined hands, feeling the chemistry shoot sparks between their palms. Just as the elevator arrives to take them and the lost boy back down to earth again, she looks him in the eye and says, "Sam. It's nice to meet you. I'm Annie."
And they all live happily ever after.
Then there's the Terminator. Sniff. Don't get me started.
I remember that scene (although your description may be better than the scene itself, and that's saying something) and yeah, it's a GREAT movie kiss, but I think my favorite is when James Spader finally kisses Andie MacDowel on the couch toward the end of Sex, Lies & Videotape...and there's some great dialogue that accompanies that kiss...

In the original Thomas Crown Affair, Steve McQueen and Faye Dunawaye put on a clinic. For me, it was an instructional video. There was nothing sweet about it, but since then, I've heard women ask, "Where are the men who kiss like that?" And I have the answer for them.
You make me want to go find someone to suck face with....! I am a romantic at heart- I thought long and hard about what my favorite movie kiss is, I have so many! I think my all time favorite is from 8 seconds. Layne is in the barn shoveling manure and his dad had just hurt his feelings. She comes out to comfort him and he is angry...he is wearing no shirt, is covered in horse manure and sweating. She says she loves him- and he tells her "right now you may have to prove it- I'm covered in horse s@$#" and she throws her arms around him and kisses him....perfect! ~Kori

kisses in movies ...theres a fair few classic well known ones comes to mind ...bogey and bacall in to have and have not ...burt lancaster and debroah kerr in from here to eternity....viv n clark in gone with the wind ...but theres one in a film called Billy elliot thats not so much hot or romantic but more meaningful and about friendship when billy returns a kiss from years ago to his friend micheal at the end of the movie ....always tears me up x
Without a doubt this one:
Spider Man is hanging upside down on whatever {I forget} in the pouring rain after just saving Mary Jane from something {again, I forget}. He allows her to peel just enough of his mask up to reveal his mouth...and then they exchange this incredible, slow, erotic kiss. ...SIGH!
