The Saga Continues

I called the VFW in my town. The number I called seems to ring at a phone in some old fart's bedroom. [No offense to old farts.] He sounded like I woke him up. After coming to, he suggested that the American Legion might be a better option when it comes to getting people to take down old and tattered flags.

So I called the American Legion here and the voicemail informed me that the box was full.

Hello, hello, is anybody home?

You want results? Call the local Fox News affiliate and ask them if it is true some activists vandalized the flag. You don't have to make the claim. Just ask if it's true.

The media are soooo gullible.

Local Boy Scouts of America troops often hold collection days for old and tattered flags and then the scouts will dispose of them properly.

I'll take an e-mail address or a phone number for the bank manager.

ROFLOL @ Remo.  That man needs an award for his comments.  Weren't you working on that at one time?  Another good cause, down the tubes.

I like Remo's comment too. Call the media.  Tell 'em of your efforts to bring attention to it. They'll love it!

How about a call to your congressperson's office.  Then they can call someone, who will call someone...

Or do what Remo suggests; I like that too.

It's been decades since I was in Chicago, so pardon me if I've forgotten everything of importance. Isn't there an all black/mostly black TV station that'd love to stick it to Whitey about this stuff? (I know, they probably are the Fox or UPN affiliate). Back in the 70's there was, but times change...

On another note, buy yourself a share of Chase and then call the national, identifying yourself as a shareholder... trust me, it gets you much farther up the food chain.

Mrs. L,

Try the boy scouts.  My guess is you could get a whole troop, or more, over there, marching around, maybe even with a new flag in tow, ready to fly.  Good deed for them.  And call the cameras.
FYI, I think the CEO of Chase / JP Morgan is now Jamie Dimon, his kids went to Latin and may still while he is in NY, I don't know, but that's the head honcho.  I'm sure he would be terribly mortified to know of this situation!
Go Mrs. L.

Part of me is thinking, kewl, stick it to the Man, Mrs L.  Another part of me pictures Mrs L sitting in the corner of a wine shop manically knitting away at a register of corporate names...
