Happy Halloween!!

This Snoopy Dog was at a pet parade in Bozeman MT last year

I guess people are stopping at journals around J-Land to say Trick or Treat and leave links to their journals. Fine. Be that way.

This Just In -- Mrs. Linklater was half watching Oprah while pretending to work, even though Halloween is a national holiday for her, when she noticed a guest that she thought she recognized. The young woman's mother is a member of a very well known family here. On more than one occasion this well-connected c -- um, person has treated Mrs. Linklater like lint. And suddenly there was her daughter on national TV, talking about women who let themselves go. Being a fat person on Oprah isn't so unusual. But she said part of the reason she got fat was because of the sexual abuse she suffered as a child, which she went on to describe in detail.

My question is, do I call her mom and say, "Hey, I saw your daughter on Oprah?"

Trick or treat! Only chocolates accepted. Tired of getting toothbrushes and pennies...

Happy Birthday!  Happy Halloween!  Good luck in the Vivi's... you are a sure winner!  Douse yourself with your favorite cologne (wear it for YOU, not him), eat all the left over Halloween candy (hopefully you bought WAY too much), do something risky (by that I don't mean removing your panti-liner), then curl up in bed with your favorite, thrilling, sexy... movie (Gotcha there for a second, didn't I?)  Then smile at the knowledge that no one will be biting your nose or throwing up under your covers tonight.  Life is GOOD!  Huggs!  LeighAnn

Darn.....I was hoping to see that you got a Vivi or 3 for your birthday but I guess we're going to have to wait it out.

Have a great 31'st Bday:)

Personally, I wouldn't call the lady.  I don't like to stoop to their level.

I wouldn't call the woman. I'd wait for a large social gathering and then mention it.....preferrably in a group setting. And make sure you're wearing a most sincere smile.

I guess it would depend on whether or not she was supportive of her daughter and loving.... or whether she was hypercritical and a part of the problem. judi

She's probably part of the problem. As a mother she failed and from how you describe her she doesn't sound like much of a human being to begin with.  I'm sure her phone is ringing off the hook by her "peers"...Sandi http://journals.aol.com/sdoscher458/LifeIsFullOfSurprises

Karma's a bitch!!

That being said, poor girl.  Sorry her mother was a C-word to you, but it looks as though this woman has left a trail of destruction.

The ONE day I don't watch Oprah.  Figures.

Always treat people the way they treat you.

Don't forget to send a card, as well.
